Quick Mindfulness Cheats!
We stay too much in the mind that the thoughts make our mind full leaving us with little awareness and being mindful is something that needs to formally taught and discussed today.
Mindfulness is a mental training practice designed to slow down racing thoughts, be more self-awareness, retract back to the present and ultimately, get more productive.
So here I am with.. straight diving into the topic and giving you few hacks to be mindful:
- CONSCIOUS BREATHING… with each exhalation, count, starting with 1… If you lose focus, start all over again, i.e., start counting from 1.
- DAY DREAMING… active and consciously creating what you would like… 5 mins. a day.
- INVOLVE ALL FIVE SENSES.. and look around engaging each sense, one at a time.
- YOG NIDRA… put on YouTube and follow the instructions!
- PRACTICE GRATITUDE… pay thanks for the tiniest bit of good that passes your life each moment. If you actually think of it, you are no less than a miracle. Literally!
- CREATE JOY IN SMALL THINGS
- TAKE A 5-MINUTE VACATION… downtime for 3-5 minutes during work is not counter productive; on the other hand, it is highly productive
- AS YOU BREATHE IN & OUT, FOCUS ON THE TIME FRAME BETWEEN THE THOUGHTS
- WALKING MEDITATION.. One of Buddhists’ way of being… Take a walk in nature & observe
- SEE ONLY THE GOOD IN PEOPLE… just focus on the beauty
- LABEL YOUR THOUGHTS (my coaches vouch for this one!)
- FEEL YOUR EMOTIONS FULLY… each emotion has a peak and it will descend post that… remember, what you resist, persists
- PLAN FOR OBSTACLES… do not jam your schedule.. leave time for uncertainty because it will come! & also for a little rest in between
- ENGAGE IN A PHYSICAL MOVEMENT
- TAKE UP A CHALLENGING TASK
and… UNPLUG, DIGITALLY…
